Yea, I need to visit it again. I need to dwell on it again.
The richness of His marvelous grace.
We know about Romans 3:23, in fact, we are Romans 3:23. But it's verse 24 that points to the miracle of the cross. It points to Jesus. It points to His grace.
I needed to visit His grace yet again today, as I can so easily forget that it was Him who made me right with God. Not me or my actions.
Stop trying to earn His favor, stop serving from fear. The grace of God has saved me, not me saved me.
So here it is, one of my favorite passages and great reminders of my wretched state apart from Him, contrasted with His great sacrifice and grace that rescued me...

State of the Union
I read an article in Charisma News this morning regarding sexual indoctrination in the public schools of California. Though I am aware in many ways of the morally declining state of US, this still surprised me.
This is where we are at as a nation (though there is a deeper root problem - learn more). What is sin to God is being promoted as good to the next generation, no to mention with no supposed concern to whether or not a parent would want their child being taught such things. I am reminded of Paul's letter to the Romans where he mentioned that though they know God’s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
I have many thoughts swirling through my mind regarding this topic, our necessary response as Christians, etc. I would encourage you to take the time to read the article (link below). I have heard of similar things happening in a public school of upstate New York where I grew up, and I am sure they are not the only school experiencing the pressure to "educate" the next generation on these sinful lifestyles.
I will not be silent, I will speak.

Perfect Peace

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
It's one thing in life to stop being afraid. To root out the causes of fear in our life. But what then do we dwell on when we remove the fears that have gripped our thoughts on a daily basis?
Stay our minds on Him.
The Bible says, "whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Not only do we need to turn from the thought patterns that produce sin in our lives (fear is one of many), we need to replace those former, earthly thoughts with heavenly thoughts that produce life.
Repentance is not just turning from something, but turning towards something. In this case, a new way of thinking.
This verse is a great reminder for me. I desire that perfect peace the Lord promises to those who "stay" their minds on Him.
I encourage you to desire and do the same.
