Freedom

For freedom Christ has set us free... http://bible.us/Gal5.1.ESV

So thankful tonight for the freedoms we enjoy in America, including the freedom to worship my Lord.

May God Bless America this Independence Day.

Lawn Mower Worship

A full, satisfying Saturday is now in the books. Of course, Saturday wouldn't be complete without mowing the lawn. And mowing the lawn, means "lawn mower worship."

I can have some great moments with God just be-boppin' around on my mower.

So yea, I enjoy my Saturdays. And, I enjoy my chance to spend time in His presence, on my kingly mower ;)

24/7

I want to take a moment to put a plug out there for those who may not be aware of the ministry of IHOP. First and foremost, we must establish that I am not talking about pancakes (however, some good pancakes can be good ministry at times!) No, IHOP, as in the International House of Prayer.

IHOP is located in Kansas City where the heart of our [IHOP's] missions base is night-and-day prayer with worship (as written on their website). IHOP has 24/7 prayer and worship going on in what is known as the Prayer Room. Not only that, they broadcast the ministry of the Prayer Room live via the web, 24/7 as well.

I would encourage you to visit the Prayer Room as it may be what you need in the middle of the day, or as a way to start your quiet time with the Lord in the morning, or simply to have playing in the background as you go about your day (take the prayer room with you as they have an app for iPhone too!).

I would also encourage you to check out our local (based in London, KY) expression of a house of prayer by visiting One27 Hop here.

Be blessed in His presence!

Psalm 42

A great Psalm to consider as we prepare for worship in the morning - Psalm 42. Can we say with the song and the Psalmist, "as the deer panteth for the water so my soul longeth after Thee"?

Its good to make sure that we aren't singing hypocritical lies to the Lord in the morning, or ever - that our lives match the songs we proclaim.

Lets worship in Spirit and Truth.

"As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, "Where is your God?" These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God, my rock: "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" As with a deadly wound in my bones, my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me all the day long, "Where is your God?" Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God."

What Does Your Heart Say?

One of my favorite verses, Psalm 27:8, and a great one to consider as we gather to worship the Lord tomorrow.

You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, Lord, do I seek."

What does your heart say?

Jesus

There is nothing quite like the presence of the Lord. There is nothing quite like His presence to turn our affections where they should be - on Him. As we offer worship to our King, we in turn are filled to overflowing. One song this morning caused me to just stop and fix my attention on Him. When you make a few moments to get alone with Him, close your eyes as you listen to this song, and allow your heart to be filled with words of worship to the King.
